Short Writing Assignment

  • The three primary colors are red,blue, and yellow

  • The secondary colors are made by mixing two primary colors together. for example red and yellow make orange. another color is red and blue make purple

  • Tertiary colors are made by mixing two secondary colors together, like purple and orange.

  • Subtractive means that one begins with white and ends with black; as you add color the result gets darker
       Additive means when those are combined  you get white essentially this is the reverse

  • color can change our perception like if you have a purple banana you will probably think something is wrong with it but even though its not our eyes and mind say that it is a bad banana

graphic file format

  • all computers documents or files are packaged in different formats
  • the formats is determined often by the files origin such as a software program like photoshop or a device such as a digital camera
  • graphic files such as a photo video 

lossy lossless

  • graphic image formats fall under 2 categories of comparison lossy and lossless
  • with lossy image data is lost or reduced for smaller sizes but can cause poor image quality can show result in showing comparison artfacts
  • lossless retains image data for higher quality but larger sizes

graphic formats

  • TIF, JPG, and GIF are the 3 most common formats for common activities such as printing scanning and displaying images over the internet
  • PNG is a common web format is high quality and can contain an alpha channel
  • each format has its own advantages and disadvantages 

file format

  • stands for tagged image format
  • common format for desktop publishing print photo and graphic design 
  • is a lossless file format it retains image data

  • stands for joint photographers group
  • created for digital photography and works best for photo content
  • is a lossy formant
  • can reduce image file size by 10:1 without showing significant comparison artifacts
  • the level of comparison is adjustable

File format GIF

  • stands for graphic interchange format
  • is best for graphic or images that have flat color or even tone such as a cartoon 
  • reduces images by indexing color from 3 channels to 1
  • is adjustable by changing color bit levels from 1-8
  • contains no PDI dot sper inch data for printing not a proper format to print
